Clip to ScrapBook #1

Iím originally from Chicago but have not been back for over 30 years. When I was a kid I would take the train from the south side to Randolph Street station which was the end of the line. It was a huge old style station with tons of benches and lots of little shops. You would take an escalator directly to the prudential high rise.

I was looking at a recent map and saw that the station was closed permanently. What happened to it? Did they tear down the building? Is it still there buried underground and abandoned?

It is probably more efficient now but I miss all the marble and beautiful wood of the old station.
