trustworthy.

Turn off you phone for a while if you can.

Get some exercise.

Get some sunshine if possible.

What about a massage?

You need some time for yourself after being such a good friend and relative to others. You have to take care of you or you will be unable to be emotionally available to others.

Take care.

been gone a while but needed a place to vent.
The past week or so it seems that I have been the sounding board or go to person for everyone's problems. Many of my friends and relatives have experienced a death, surgeries, or very serious illness. I have been the shoulder to lean on. And not eveyone knows of all the other incidents that I'm connected to.
Finally, today I think I've reached my limit. A very special young man that was my student passed away a week before his 27th birthday. It sounds like a freaky accident but no details have been determined. I was his second grade teacher. At that time I knew he had a wonderful future. As a senior the football players come to visit the elementary schools. He sought me out, we discussed his college plans and future. It's such a shame to see such a young life taken away so soon.

I feel as though I'm slipping with all of this negative energy around me, and that I have to be the strong one for everyone else. I knew that this was one of the few places I could come and verbalize some of what's going on so I can move on. Thanks for listening. As teachers we all know what its is like to feel like the "supporter"

It sounds like it is time to take some time for you. Time to rest, renew, and revive. Hugs!

Sounds like you are getting the life blood sucked right of you. I hope you can find a place to refresh and renew yourself. This can be such a stressful season.

Though my situation is different I can empathize with feeling like the life is being sucked out of you with having to care for everyone else and bear their burdens with them. I don't mind and am glad to help, but sometimes it just becomes too much. Do you workout? Can you possibly get away for a few days? If not a few days, maybe an entire day just for yourself doing the things you like to do?

(((HUGS))) and vent away anytime!

Nancy

Sorry Sometimes even a little break can help. Right now I'm sitting upstairs writing out bills and listening to beautiful Christmas music. Take a relaxing bath. Do a face mask. Don't answer the phone when you know someone is going to unload on you. It's all about self preservation. Believe me I know!
It can almost be just as bad when people constantly share their happy stories with you constantly when your life isn't going so great.
We all have a limit to what we can take without feeling overwhelmed.
Be a little selfish. You can't pour from an empty cup.

thank you all! Sometimes understanding words are the Best help, more than you can realize. As teachers we tend to be the ones that people go to. Soooo you have all been my 'go to'.

Merry Christmas and Kindness to all.
