What map app do you use and

Find most accurate when you drive long distance. Today I followed a map only to have to turn around due to a road closure. At least I didn’t end up in a field like some other drivers not too long ago!

On my phone I have imap, google maps and waze. I like to have choices 😊

I use Google maps and it has guided me throughout the US and international countries. I have found it much more reliable than the “Maps” app. Thats how I roll.

I use GoogleMaps. I deleted the default iPhone Map a long time ago after it couldn’t find our friends house.

GoogleMaps helped me navigate traffic when I lived in DFW and needed alternate routes depending on current traffic delays.

We like to use Waze in our area and when we travel out of state. It keeps up to date since people are reporting road closures or construction.

I use Google Maps, but I have a borderline unhealthy love with all things Google.

We use Google and Waze. Also, we carry a paper road map of the USA when traveling. Some friends laugh when they see our Rand McNally atlas but we find it priceless! We always say what happens when you lose service or your phone/tablet/GPS is not working.

I have both Google Maps

and Imaps, but I use Google maps almost entirely. I have found that it is much more accurate in estimating arrival times. I can drive five to ten miles OVER the speed limit and still not keep up with estimated arrival time on Apple's Map program.

Also, google maps allows our family members to share their locations, so we can see where everyone is, which was really fun while all of us were traveling to our family reunion in New York! Also, when my DD was coming from New Jersey to our house, we knew about where she was at all times.

The only two times I've used Google maps it just stopped working in the middle of my drive. Just completely shut down. So I don't use it anymore. I also found Waze very unreliable (a friend and I used Waze and another simultaneously just to see the difference). I haven't had any problems with my regular maps app except when I'm going to something like an amusement park that has multiple entrances, and then it seems to like taking me to service entrances and the like.

While traveling in northern Vermont last winter, iphone Maps took us on a wild goose chase to a road that was closed for the winter. Google Maps got us out of that mess and brought us to our destination.

I don't often use GPS, but when I do I use google. It's always worked just fine. The few times it hasn't was because I didn't have service (not because the service didn't work). Dh uses google all the time and it's always worked well for him. People report closures and speed traps and slowdowns, etc etc, so we've always found it accurate.

We used it on a recent road trip covering 2 provinces and 12 states in 10 days and it was completely accurate.

I have found google maps to be more accurate but since I got my Apple Watch, I like that it pings my wrist when I have to turn. So both are good in certain situations.

I have used google maps for years without issues until this year. I used to have an old school Garmin GPS in the car and google maps has been significantly better.

This year I started to have issues with it. I'd be driving somewhere and it would just cut off in the middle of the trip with no warning, and then literally take like 5+ minutes to come back on/let me type in the address and get it started again, only to shut down a minute later. It's only happened a few times and thankfully it's been awhile, but it was extremely frustrating. One time I was meeting friends at a totally new/unknown to me place for dinner and I was literally like 30 minutes late because of this.

My best friend was saying she'd had the same issues with hers- but we both have older phones (mine is 4 years old, hers 3). So we were trying to figure out if it was our old phones that were the problem or google maps. During one of these frustrating experiences I tried Waze and it didn't work either, so I'm leaning towards the phone being the issue- but I've never had any issues with other apps shutting down or being really slow.

I use Google maps. I've tried Waze several times and have family that swears by it, but I just can't get into it.

My newest cat has built in navigation. I hate it...at least 20 minutes longer than using Google.

With my job I travel a lot and I need to learn to download my maps before I go because I have been in areas without service!

Hmm... I've never been a cat person, but maybe I could be persuaded to change... But I hear they don't travel well, so seems like a senseless invention.

Sorry, I really couldn't resist!

We use WAZE because it has up to the moment road conditions, right up tp tires or a dead raccoon in the road.

I've found it to be pretty reliable and always has very up-to-the-minute traffic data. Having said that, it sometimes takes me some crazy ways to get places. I've found it's helpful when I at least have some idea of where I'm going so I know whether or not to accept the "back way" that Waze is trying to send me.

Waze: It will reroute you if there's a problem. It also tells you about construction, objects in the road, caution, and police on the road.
I also use my car navigation.

We are so old school...we have a Tom-Tom(gps) which I love! Never breaks down, tells me about traffic issues. Awesome. And does not use my data! Sometimes, i’ll use the phone as back up.

We are full time RVers so we are constantly traveling in unfamiliar territory. We find that google maps works the best. We were actually driving the RV we also have a few apps we use to check for bridge. Height and weight restrictions, but we still mostly use google and almost always use google map s when in the car.

I use Waze, and it’s been fine for me. Does Google Maps help you navigate traffic- telling which lane to be in for example? My mom just moved here and is not used to driving on busy, multi-lane roads. She has Waze and I downloaded all the locations she might want to go, but it doesn’t tell her which lane she needs to be in.
