Does anyone know of places online where candidates can sign up for virtual support/mentorship/cohorts? I know there are many school districts/universities that offer in person support for local teachers, but I wonder about the teachers who do not have support. Is there a place for them? I am a teacher who certified without support from my district and I know how challenging that can be and would love to "sign up" to mentor and give back.

I think grassroots is your calling! Start advocating for teachers in your building/district to become candidates and offer assistance. I caution you, though, there are very specific guidelines about how to help.

Where do I find those guidelines? I'd love to be a facilitator of some sort. My state has strong candidate support, but not in my region of the state. My county actually is beyond amazing with PD and Professional Learning so it surprises me that they don't offer support or cohorts. I would love to get that going.

I saw a course through Stanford, but I wasn't sure if that was specific to CA or not. Looks like they offered it last summer. So, I'll keep my eye on it.

The best way is to be trained as a PLF (formerly CSP).

This is the link to the PLF info from the New Mexico Network...maybe see if your state has one?

Best luck and yay for giving back to your community.
