I am wide awake past midnight, and have been dragging myself out of bed between 9 and 10 in the mornings. I am a natural night owl, and school schedules have never been a good fit for me. I'm hoping the kids are as sleepy as I am and we have a quiet morning. . . though that is doubtful! Good luck!

I haven't slept until 10 any day and it is going to suck. I did make it to 930 one day.

We have pd, so at least we don't have to be ready for kids. However, I am teaching a class and my lab is completely unplugged. I guess I have to get there early to turn on all the devices. Bluck.

Both of my children slept until 9:00 this morning. They get up at 6:15 on school days and we have to be on the road by 7:00. Iím going to have my work cut out for me on Monday between getting myself up and ready, getting them up and ready, and getting us all out the door on time. Iím not looking forward to it. These two weeks off have been glorious.

Agreed! Iíve been getting up at 7, but Iíve also had daily naps. And then not going to bed until 11ish.

Monday and Tuesday are PD days so it wonít be too bad.

Monday Morning

How about a break in morning tomorrow? Say 8:30...Then is there a bribe you can use to make Monday morning more fun for them?
Have a positive attitude and allow yourself extra time. We are all cheering you on in this new school setting.

I'm a night owl, so I've been staying you late and haven't gotten up before 9:00 for the majority of the break. 6:00 is going to hit me like a ton of bricks on Monday.

I had to set an alarm this morning so I didn't miss my noon nail appointment.

At least we have a work day Monday, so I don't have to face kids until Tuesday. However, I have to present stuff at the meeting which means I can't zone out in my seat.

I went back Thursday. I am not a night owl and rarely sleep past 6am any time. Thursday the kids were all quiet and tired. By Thursday night I was beat and had a hard time getting up Friday.

So.......I wasn't crazy about having to go back those 2 days ( we NEVER get a full 2 weeks off), but there is NO WAY I would have made it through a 5 day week right off haha !

Yes, I am dreading it!

I have a 9:00 am alarm set for days off or I'd sleep in forever. I'm a natural night owl too. I am so not a morning person.

I won't have trouble getting up...but I will have issues not spending two hours with multiple, leisurely cups of coffee! We have a PD day, but the PD is focused on classroom management/volatile students and I am one of the case studies being presented.

I am right there with you! I'm a night owl so have reverted to going to bed between 1 and 2, and rolling out of bed (usually after an hour or two of reading) at 10 or 11. It's going to be so hard!

Yesterday I woke up at noon; today I was meeting some friends for lunch and had to get out of bed by 10:30. Tomorrow I signed up for a crafting and coffee meetup partially because I'll need to get out the door by 10. Not that 10 is really close to leaving at 7:10 like I'll need to on Monday . And for me, just going to bed earlier doesn't work. I just can't fall asleep.

New Start/Thinking positively!

I know, I am dreading Monday too. I actually like my job a lot at and the people I work with and everything, but I'm still dreading it because I like my bed and my freedom more! I'm wondering how I will manage going to bed a decent type instead of being addicted to my phone, waking up to an alarm, and not taking an afternoon nap. I'm also wondering how my body will adjust to not snacking during the day.

Beginnings are always tough. Think positively...you have a new start. It will be great! Once you get past day 1, I'm sure you will love it and feel excited to go back to work again.

This is my 33rd year of teaching, and I'm so over that alarm clock!

I still absolutely love teaching, especially the daily contact with the students (the admin.....not so much). But I wish that I could afford to retire, so that I could relax a bit, explore some other interests, travel, etc. But being a single parent, there's no way I can afford it right now.

Yep, all good things come to an end! I actually hate that about life.

I'm not working in the schools these days, but the good news for me is that I can now start going to all the normally crowded places that are usually crowded when all the kids are off, such as amusement parks, museums, etc. I'd like to go to Six Flags Magic Mountain on one of my free Fridays this month.

I am right with you! I've been staying up later and later and sleeping in later and later.

Thank God I love coffee. Sometimes it's the only reason I decide to get out of bed!

This morning I kept waking up before my 9:30 alarm. I bet tomorrow morning when my alarm goes off I will be dead asleep .
