Question about page format /paragraphs

For my WC, I can fit 24 lines on a page with font Arial 12, double space, 1" each side. However, when I begin a new paragraph, the program automatically puts it on a new page so I have 1-3 lines that I could fit at the bottom, but I can't format it! So I lost 18 lines in the whole document, which is almost one page!!!!!
How do I fix this?? I need that extra page!
Thank you.

It needs to be 11 pt, not 12. So, I gained you some space there. Check your widows + orphans setting and turn on hyphenation. Do a search + replace for two spaces after punctuation (only need one). I didn't use paragraphs or indentations. Instead, I bolded the first two words when I began a new prompt. All of that should help you.

I think I should take a break. I had Arial 11& plenty of space left, and all of a sudden I had a "thought" and said it's Arial 12. So I changed it. And I began cutting out stuff🤨. I am a mess.
Thank you.

Breathe . You are going to be fine. I hope you were able to salvage some of the work you cut from your response.
