Prayers- custody of DGD
Old 01-16-2020, 02:43 PM

Prayers would be appreciated for my DD who just found out that her ex, who she had an unofficial agreed upon 1custody arrangement with for their 5 year old, has been telling DGD that she will be moving far away soon and going to a different school and that "she'll get over it" when she mentions that she'll miss her teacher.
Her Kinder teacher is wonderful and called DD to check to see if that's true and report that DGD has been upset, frequently late on ex's custody days, doesn't have homework, etc.
So, prayers would be appreciated for DD who will need the strength to fight her crazy narcissistic ex, prayers for DGD's mental health, and an extra prayer to bless her teacher for being concerned enough to call DD.

I am sorry your family is suffering with these issues. I will pray for all of the above. What can't parents who split just do what is right for their children?

How uncool for x to play such games with dgd's head. What a louse.

Positive thoughts while the mess is resolved.

Hopefully your daughter can contact her lawyer and get some official legal custody arrangements in place. your daughter's lawyer might be able to obtain some evidence from the school and the teacher (if she is willing/legally able to give that information).

Your daughter can also have it stated in the divorce decree that her ex cannot move out of the state without going back to court first to petition amendment to change custody arrangements That would give her some definite legal boundaries in place on taking/moving her child.

I hope everything gets resolved because that is so sad that the five-year-old is stressed, not to mention your dear daughter and yourself being stressed.

Prayers for your DD, DGD and your family. Hopefully DD can see a lawyer in time to stop what X is alluding to. Your DGD is blessed to have a teacher who took what was happening seriously.

Informal agreements are great when they work. But, it looks as if this one has stopped working.

It's time for a formal agreement. She needs to see a lawyer yesterday. She needs a really good lawyer to deal with her crazy narcissistic ex.

That's very scary. You might start working on teaching the child how to make a phone call and what her phone number is. It's a fine balance between preparing the child for the possibility of being moved without her mother's consent (or knowledge?) and helping her to feel secure. I hope I'm just borrowing trouble and that it all works out well.

This sounds like she needs legal help

immediately. Is it possible the dad plans to kidnap her? I would immediately take the child to the child custody mediator (free in the courts) and get her statements on record with a third party. In California, I could not take my kids out of state without written notification and permission from their dad and vice versa. Tell her to act now, because parental kidnapping happens every day.

Present Situation

I have a friend in Texas who has primary custody of her boys. The boys visited their father in Florida during Christmas break, and he has not yet returned them. You'd think Florida would honor the custody agreement from Texas, but no such luck.

The boy's mother flew to Florida earlier this week hoping to bring the boys home, but that did not happen because the dad reported her to CPS in Florida so she is under investigation. If the Florida CPS had contacted the Texas CPS, they would have found out the dad has tried the same sh** in Texas and was shot down by the courts.

The mom had to get a lawyer in Florida to deal with CPS and give her hope that she would bring the boys home from Florida, but that is on hold because there is a hearing in Texas next Thursday. The father (in Florida) must bring the boys with him to the Texas hearing. The mom flew home from Florida on Wednesday without her boys. Today, the father filed for a change of venue to Florida, but that was denied by the Texas court.

BTW...they were in court last August. The father has not paid one cent in child support since the custody ruling was made.

What a mess. Prayers would be appreciated.

My advice...get a strong lawyer for your granddaughter.

This resonates with me so much. My sister was in a similar situation with her ex and my niece. It痴 scary as hell, and I値l keep you all in my thoughts.

I'm praying your DD gets revised and increased custody of your DGD. I hope she gets a strong lawyer to defend her rights. Her ex sounds awful! Kudos to the teacher who cared enough to call.
