I have 28, but may have a student moving to a self-contained EI room next week. Another student is hearing impaired. I have 19 boys and 9 girls, also. My teaching partner has 20 boys and 9 girls.

It is 25 (feels so much better than usual 27-28). I, too, have more boys. 16 boys, 9 girls. They are a nice bunch of kids but very talkative.

I only have 25 kids this year. The numbers are dropping because of the economy. Many of the families in my area are going back to Mexico and Central America. I'll be losing one to Guatemala on Monday.

19 this year with one moving after Christmas. Lowest I've had in 8 years. Normally I have about 25-26. Can't believe the difference it makes to have under 20. I don't know how you guys do it with 30 or more!!! Where do you put them all? Is your classroom crowded?

I currently have 21 - 13 boys and 8 girls. A few years ago, I was up to 27, with 29 for math. I know the difference. The low numbers are great! I do feel bad for those with high numbers because you start to lose the one to one connection that you can have with lower numbers.

10 boys /10 girls in a 1st/2nd class. 8 are in 2nd and 12 are in 1st. That is the lowest in about 7 years. Our max in K-2 is 24. I illegally had 25 3 years ago ( we got a waiver from the state, but you can only do that once) and that was the most I have ever had. In 3-5 the max is 29.

I have 20 students, 9 boys and 11 girls. What a treat! 5 are ESOL. I can't imagine having more than 25 students, so much individual attention and differentiation is expected, how can anyone do it, with as many students, as many of you must teach??

I have 24 this year, 13 girls and 11 boys. Last year I had 27. I think we're capped at 35, but I don't see us going that big. Last year with 27 was the biggest our team had ever had.

Inclusion classes are 20 or 21.

Wish I had 18 again like I had a few years ago--so nice!

I can't imagine some of your classes! Texas has a cap of 22 for K-4, but anything goes after that. Thankfully, our district recognizes that smaller class sizes increase student performance and cap 5-6 at 25. I only have 19 in my 5th grade class this year.

I have 32 - 14 boys and 18 girls, and 8 are identified with learning disabilities or special needs. Haven't been under 30 for years, although our district "average" is 28 for upper elementary grades... WHEW!!!

How do you get anything done with 34 fourth graders in one class. That should be against the law!
