Any suggestions as to how to prevent students from running out the classroom??? I welcome suggestions on how to manage students that spit, bite, punch and throw school equipment. Furthermore, I hope to find help to assist with improving CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT.

Chimes or bells on the door can help you know it is being opened and with a smaller child you may be able to get there in time! I assume this is special ed and if so you should have other adults in the room - make sure someone is always aware and watching for a possible escape. Good luck!

I know this is a very old post, but it caught my eye. I'm sure you have already found a solution to the problem. The post reminded me of some of the patients in the hospital that had spit masks put on them. They hated it!

Doubt this would be allowed in the schools...lol Probably should be though!
