What word is your “resolution” for 2020?

I don’t know where I read this, but someone suggested that one chooses a word for the year instead of a resolution. I thought about it, and my word is ME. That might sound a little self-centered, so I created a Mission Statement. Here it is:

2020: The year of ME
For the year of ME, I am going to concentrate on seven different concepts. I will (try) to journal my progress so that I can look back on the year at the end of 2020.
Health:
Focused on living a healthier life.
Wealth:
Focused on monetary issues.
Creativity:
Focused on doing something that is creative.
Gratitude:
Focused on journaling those moments in the previous week for which I am grateful.
POP (Planning Organization and Preparation):
Focused on planning for the future ... the immediate as well as long-term.
Unplugged:
Focused on staying off of social media.
Connection:
Focused on maintaining friendships and meaningful relationships.

If you could have one word for 2020, what would you choose?

My word for 2020 is healthy.

Healthy weight, healthier diet, healthy boundaries, healthy balance in life.

I've chosen to believe:
-that I can do more to care for myself.
-relationships take work, and it is a labor of love.
-I can remain dedicated as an educator, but don't have to give my job everything I am.
-in all of life, you get out of it what you put into it.

I want to stay more “in the moment” to better appreciate all I have to be grateful for. This will help me not to dwell on the past or worry about the future. So much in the here and now to enjoy!

Happy New Year!

Wisdom

I've done this many years and this year the word wisdom keeps popping into my head so I'm going with it.

Wisdom to know who is good for me and who is not.
Wisdom to know how to take care of my body.
Wisdom to gain when it comes to being a good teacher.

My word this year is FAITH. I have GAD and worry can overwhelm me so easily. I chose FAITH to help me remember to trust in God at all times.

Routines: I have healthy routines in place, but I need to get back to following them. That’s goal number one.

Communication: I’m going to be better about asking for what I need, instead of expecting others to know (or to ignore my needs altogether, which is what I normally do).

I went with DOABLE resolutions this year. And I’m measuring growth instead of success. As long as I’m doing better at both of these, I’ll be happy.

I am stronger than I give myself credit for. Physically, emotionally, in wisdom, and in faith. I need to walk in that strength.

A friend of mine also posted about picking one word to focus on for a resolution. I love the idea. Mine is "minimize".

My word this year is TODAY. Just a reminder to take one day at a time as I work on mental, physical and spiritual health.

I read something about improving yourself 1% from the previous day. That’s all you need to do. Clean up your diet 1% over yesterday. Move 1% more. It is shocking how fast little changes add up.

LOL. I am far too wordy to pick just one...

But if I could pick one that is kind of all-inclusive it might be Positivity...

I think it could include all the stuff in the OP's mission statement too.
