What an interesting find...

I forget who I was even looking for, but it was the address of someone I know.

Anyway....this site came up

voterrecords.com

I was able to see the political affiliation for those on that street. So then I typed in my address and I now know the political affiliation of all my neighbors. A couple surprised me, while others I knew it guessed correctly.

Just found it to be interesting. Won't change my relationship with anyone.

Zia, I noticed that after I posted. I don't know why some are, while others aren't. Must be some law.

Check it out

I'll have to check it out.

I wonder if in the states that aren't there, if it is because you don't have to identify your political affiliation when registering to vote/voting. I know I have never been asked my political affiliation. When voting in primaries, I'm given a ballot with democrats on one side and republicans on the other. I'm told to vote for only one party.

The site didn't work for me. When I went to the site you listed, it took me to a People Search twitter page.

PP accidentally left off the S. It's voterrecords.com. My state isn't listed.

I did a search for someone I know in one of the states listed. After it verified some of her info, it wouldn't give me any more info until I paid for it. It's affiliated with one of those paid background check sites.

I knew you could look people up by putting in a name, but I didn't know about this one! Interesting!

It worked for me. Thereís a relatively newer subdivision that borders my property. Most people there are registered as unaffiliated, just like me. But now I can see the names and addresses!

Thanks, book geek! I was not liking the twitter page that came up with the first link.

My state is there. I looked up some random people- no one is affiliated with any political party. However, I found out my immediate boss is actually 4 years younger than me, and our overall boss appears to be 11 years younger. That kind of bummed me out!

I looked up several other coworkers and I'm older than most of them. *sigh*

I'm obsessed with looking people up! It is a wealth of info. I also noticed ages of people that I would never have guessed. And political parties I was pleasantly surprised by I searched my whole street-kinda fun and creepy at the same time!

So sorry about the typo...thanks bookgeeks! I've fixed it.

If you click on the 3 lines in top right corner you can search by address!

Yes, Linda/Ohio is was fun and creepy at the same time!

Teacherbee4 very interesting about primaries....my DH is registered for a party, so they give him that balor. I'm registered as an independent so I have to choose which party I wasn't to vote for and then they give me that ballot.

Like some PPs I typed in the wrong thing (I typed votersrecords.com with an s after "voter") and that domain is for sale.

California is not on there, perhaps due to privacy standards?

but I typed in my name, first, middle initial and last name. There are 3 others listed with my name!

I don't know how I feel about this public site. I keep how I vote and who I vote for private. Why do others need to know my political affiliation unless I choose to share it? With the animosity and divide in our nation how is this a good thing?

My state isnít on there, but if it was and you looked me up, you might be misled. When we vote in the primary we must declare a party. My county rarely has more than one person running for any position in my party. I will often declare the other party because there is usually a more moderate candidate that I would prefer to win. During November elections, you do not have to declare a party.

Yes! I totally get it. I found the information interesting, yet a bit creepy. I'm still safe though. I'm registered as unaffiliated!

I know there are people who would cease being friends with people over things like this. I'd never do that, but I'd also know I couldn't discuss politics with certain people.
