Has anyone gotten the senior flu shot? If so, were there any problems or side effects?
TIA

I got my back in the early fall. No side effects or problems. I scoot into my local CVS and the cute pharmacist has it done in less than 10 minutes. I did have a croup type virus in November but it was not the flu. Urgent Care tested.

That evening I got more and more achy and tired. Went to bed early, next morning felt no effects.

flu shot

I had no idea that there was a difference between the regular flu shot and the senior flu shot until you posted this thread and I looked it up. I frankly don't know which one I got. I got mine in November.

I had absolutely no side effects, and in the past few months since I got the shot I have been around people (including DH) who had the flu, but I didn't get it, knock on wood.

I've gotten the senior version the past several years. For me (knock on wood), no side effects and. even better, no flu.

The pharmacy was out of stock and didn't know when more would come in. There was no waiting list so I opted for the regular shot. Next year I'll go in September rather than October.

No side effects with the regular shot.

I had mine early in the fall. For the first time I had a little soreness in my arm where I had the shot. I do mean mild.

RetiredKat-I get my flu shot at my pharmacy. I have found that if they are out of it I can go to one of the "Doctor's In" (meaning a clinic where they will take patients without an appointment just as a walk in) and was able to get it there.

We went at the beginning of October and the pharmacy was out of senior flu shots. I called other pharmacies in the area and one said they had it so over there we went. When we got there they said 'oops, we don't have it'. Then we decided to go to the next state flu clinic that advertised they had them. We got there early, but when they opened there were no senior flu shots.

We figured we'd give up and get the regular shot. So we went back to place number one, and surprise surprise, they now had the senior flu shot in stock. So after a three week odyssey we finally got our shots.

No side effects for either of us.

Problems
Old 01-14-2020, 03:48 PM

I had a senior flu shot two years ago. Within three hours, I had a fever, vomiting, and chills. I was sick for five days.

Last year, I did not have a flu shot and had the flu twice.

This year, I had the regular flu shot. When I told the pharmacist of my problems two years ago, she advised getting the regular one but not the senior one. I have not been sick this year (knock on wood), and I am around students four days per week.
