He took AP test for government on Monday, everything went fine. The AP chemistry test on Thursday ó same thing as the girl in the story. He couldnít get his answer downloaded. He was devastated. He said he knew he did really well on his answer. He was in tears after screaming. Other classmates had the same experience. Offered the retake, but itís not until June. Heís done. He said he doesnít want the stress anymore.

These AP tests (which are usually 2-3 hours long) have been condensed to only 45 minutes to deter cheating and the use of outside sources, so it was also a totally different format than what they had been preparing for.

Yes, the Class of 2020 - especially those who have done well academically - have gotten the short end of the stick in every way - no end of the year activities, no in-person honor and scholarship nights, no in-person graduation, AP test screw up, no on-campus freshman college year experience. Itís been one disappointment after another.

I know there are other more serious losses out there, but it does not erase the understandable sadness that these kids and their parents feel.

College Board addresses technical issues

The College Board has created a solution for kids who are unable to upload / submit their responses next week on their AP exams. Unfortunately, they aren’t doing anything retroactively for kids who had trouble last week, other than assuring them they can take the makeup exam in June.

I can only imagine how upsetting and frustrating it must have been for the kids who had problems last week. My son was fortunate not to have had any issues on his exam last Monday.

Hugs to your son, Gogogo, and to you too, because we all know that we moms hurt when our kids are hurting.

These AP tests are a disaster. We still have 3 to go in my house and I just pray that they are able to finish and submit them.
