That's so sad. What an amazing impact she had on kids' learning- making it fun and just a little more "real."

But she will live forever in the fun books she wrote for children. I loved sharing them with my third graders back during my teaching years. May she rest in peace.

When I first started in my last teaching job, Joanna Cole was the first author our media specialist brought in. She did a fantastic job. I heard her at other conferences through the years and had many autographed copies of her books. My students enjoyed the DVDs of the PBS series based on her books, as well. She will be missed.

I loved the Magic School Bus and my students loved the books and the shows. When I first started teaching I would use them all the time. One of my students in China wanted to show me an English book someone gave him and it was a Magic School Bus book. May she Rest In Peace. She brought joy to so many kids and made science fun and accessible.

That's very sad I used her books extensively in my kindergarten class. I once had a student tell me I was just like Miss Frizzle, probably the best compliment I've ever had as a teacher!

I am sorry to read that she died. I used her books and videos a lot during science. One year I dressed as Miss Frizzle during our science units.

I so enjoyed her books& students loved them. I had a Ms. Fizzle doll & the dinosaur stuffed animal in my classroom. The children enjoyed the surprise messages they left around the room.

Wouldn’t it be neat if her body was used to find the cure for Covid or cancer? It would be like Ms. Frizzle saves us again.

Magic School Bus books

My kids loved the Magic School Bus books, and I loved how educational they were. My son was a *very* early reader, and had quite the advanced vocabulary. I’ll never forget him lying in bed one night at age 5, reading a Magic School Bus book, when he exclaimed suddenly, “Bioluminescence! That’s my new favorite word!”
