Clip to ScrapBook #1

I'm staying home with my daughter right now but am interested in returning as an ESL teacher at the elementary level.(I taught 2 & 3rd grade for several years but always found the job overwhelming/stressful) I moved recently to MD and was wondering if anyone out there could give me some information about the position. I am certified to teach K-5 and am wondering if I would need to take courses to become "certified or endorsed" (not clear which one it is) or is it a matter of taking the PRAXIS? What do you find challenging? What do you enjoy? What would you recommend I do in preparation to return in a few years to be marketable? Thank you in advance for any information.

If you are certified in something else, sign up for the ESOL praxis tests. It is becoming an increasingly difficult job. Look at it very carefullly. More and more paperwork--just like special education.
