Hi PT friends! I haven't been on here in a while!

I'm putting together a "bucket list" of things I want to try next year and I was just wondering what kinds of things you would want to do!

I have missed seeing your posts.

I am too afraid of coming up with a bucket list to defy my fears. I am not planning to fly, especially without an airplane. I always been afraid of certain amusement park rides, but now the issue is going into a seizure. Needless to say, I will not try to conquer the fear of those.

Good for you, being ready to conquer your fears!

I want to visit all 50 states and truly experience the wonder and beauty of America. I want to visit them all before I turn 50. Not sure if that counts as a bucket list, but it is a goal and I am working hard to accomplish it.

I overcame my fear of the unknown and sent in my retirement letter! I now have to face the "getting a different job" fear in the fall.

But I would start my own business and quit teaching.

YAY for you teacher lady!! Wishing I could join you, but that is at least 5 years away for me, even for our district's smallish early retirement (and I'm really hoping it is still there when I get there so at least it is a possible option for me!!)

I would open a fabric store with all of the beautiful fabrics, magazines, threads, and antique buttons that I could find! The only problem is finding enough customers to keep me in business.

Second One- Open a Chik-Fil-A at the beach in Florida.

I want to climb a 14er. Still on my list. Now I have to get in good enough shape to do it, and find someone to do it with me.

I also want to backpack. Probably do it the same trip.

Other than that, my list is empty. I have lived a pretty full life.

That covers many things if I'm considering what I would if I weren't afraid! Off the top of my head:

*sky diving
*bungee jumping
*scuba diving
*rock climbing (the real kind)
*surfing in Hawaii

I did face VERY scary fears

a couple of years ago and went ALONE on a backpacking trip to France and Italy for 3 wks. Part of that time I was at an authors retreat in Tuscany and traveled a little afterwards with some people at the retreat but for at least half of it I was alone and had to figure things out by myself. I never shared with anyone (even my dh who was an absolute wreck about it )how terrified I was to do it but it was important for me to do it and I am sooo glad I did. My dh and I have traveled a lot together but he has never had any desire to go to Europe, I had been once before with my sister. I had asked friends who for years have talked about going but everyone had financial issues so I said to myself, "if I wait for the perfect time for everyone else, I will never go, it's now or never". At that point in my life I also really needed alone time.

But now I feel like I could do anything....and want to travel more in this country and see it all as someone else said! Hopefully I'll have the money and time to do it! I read where a poll was taken of the elderly on anything in their life they wished they'd done more of and the majority said they wished they'd traveled a lot more.

sky dive, bungee jump, scuba dive, helicopter ride, parasail, travel all over Europe, go on a Safari, visit all 50 states (the remaining I haven't visited), go on a cruise (have yet to do that), see some Asian islands like Philippines, go to Australia and New Zealand...

edit: I didn't read any of the posts before I did mine. Interesting to see all of the similarities.

I did think of one while reading...it's something DH and I are considering now. We want to open our own business.

I would like to go on roller coasters but they terrify me.

I was scared to try ziplining, but when I did it was a blast.
