St. Louis - suggestions needed

We had a great week on mission in Chicago. We are planning on stopping at the Abraham Lincoln Museum in Springfield. Then, we will travel on to the Arch in St. Louis. Any recommendations for places to eat or other fun sites near the Arch?

Well, they're not necessarily near the Arch but The Magic House and City Museum are amazing. You could do multiple days at each of those places.

I second the City Museum. It's a fun crazy place!

Last we were in St. Louis. The area is under major construction. You can go up in the Arch, but that is about it. There is no museum or gift shop at the moment due to the construction. We always like eating downtown at PI. It's a little pizza place south of the dome. There are several fun places downtown. Sweetie Pies isn't right downtown, but is an iconic place that has been futured
on Diners, Drive ins and Dives.

The Abraham Lincoln Museum was awesome! As a result, we are eating in Springfield (Chesapeake Seafood) and probably will only visit the Arch without doing too much other stuff in St. Louis.

We read about a casual restaurant called Fitz before we went to St.Louis. Because it has a bottling company inside as well and make their own root beer we decided to give it a try. We had root beer marinated BBQ sandwiches and they were delicious. Service was good as well. The root beer is the best! We left with cases to take back to Texas.

Not to be missed is a trip to Ted Drewes. They make delicious soft serve custard! It is the perfect way to stay cool on a summer day in St. Louis. Enjoy!

We visit St. Louis frequently and our favorite places include the Broadway Oyster Bar, BB's Jazz, Blues, and Soups, and Jazz at the Bistro. Beale on Broadway also is a great place to visit. We also occasionally go to Cardinal's games.
