Branson Trip?

DH & I have an anniversary coming up, and we want to take a quick road trip somewhere neither of us has been. (We are taking a longer trip to the beach in July.)

Gatlinburg was our go-to destination with my EX/his late, and I was there in April with a field trip group, so we thought Branson would be a similar experience.

Suggestions for places to stay?

We have never been. Yet two days ago this came up on another chat board. Several people were raving about "Big Cedar Lodge" in Branson.

Looks gorgeous! We plan to stay here one night before a cruise leaving from Galveston TX. The cruise isn't until Jan 2019 so needless to say we haven't booked the room yet. .

ETA We were looking at the "value" room for our needs but it looks like there are a wide range of accomodations/prices available. Private cabins etc.

Big Cedar - We have a time share at Big Cedar so we've been there many times. It is beautiful, and there's a lot to do. They have 6 pools, tennis courts, basketball courts, horseback riding, carriage rides, billiards, boats, etc. They also deliver fresh-baked cookies to your room every day.

The Falls is also a nice place to stay. Jacuzzis in the master bedroom, balcony, the pool isn't as good as most places (fairly small and crowded).

Pointe Royale is beautiful. It's on a golf course.

There are also many regular motels that would be cheaper than the resorts.

Have fun!

We would be okay with a regular motel. We will be out and about doing activities. We want something centrally located.

but kinda off the beaten path as far as Branson itself goes.

Check Trip Advisor for the best results.

Silver Dollar City is nice--
My favorite show is The Haygoods. Great energy and a variety of song genres and an awesome family all round.

There are a lot of things near:
The Titanic Museum
Ripley's Believe it or Not
Tons of Restaurants and Gift Shops
The Giant Ferris Wheel
All the other Music shows-bleech...

Is our go to. We usually book off of eBay. If you want to stay up by the strip just go name brand. You can't go wrong. I highly recommend the Rick Thomas Magic Show. We saw it over spring break and we're very impressed. It was very interactive.
