STEM Bins

Clip to ScrapBook #1

I recently ran across a site talking about STEM bins. Most of the sites I have found are for younger students K, 1st. Has anyone in the 5th grade incorporated these into their classroom? If so do you use them as morning work, finished early, ect???

Also does anyone know where to print off free cards? Each site I went to you had to pay for cards, and I thoroughly understand, but this teacher has no $$ to spend.
Thanks

My son's 6th grade class did something similar every Friday. They called them "paper bag challenges" and each bag had instructions and materials for the challenge. They were often very simple and used materials you could find in school (paper clips, index cards, post-it notes) or that parents could donate (tp rolls, spaghetti, marbles). They LOVED it and it was a highlight of the week for both kids and teachers!
