Plans for my snow day tomorrow.

I've decided I want to make a family cookbook to give my boys for Christmas. They often call me asking how to make their favorite dishes, and I email the recipes to them. So tonight and tomorrow, I'm typing up all the favorite family recipes, laminating them, and putting them in binders to give the boys for Christmas. I've noticed that I can't just sit and watch a movie without something to do, so that's my Sound of Music activity.

that sounds great!!! They will know the love you are giving. I would sign my name or just mom at the bottom of every recipe to make it really special. I still have my mom's recipe books with her notes beside many and that's what I cherish the most.

My mother made a cookbook with her favorite recipes and recipes I frequently asked for. I love it.

She also has a recipe box with literally thousands of recipes organized by topic. I told her I wanted it when she died. Itís mine.

I think thatís a wonderful and thoughtful gift your sons will love.

Sounds like a great idea! Maybe also throw in a make quick in case of emergency recipe, if you have one.

I was just reading an article about this same type of thing.

My sisters and I began photocopying treasured recipes. Our mother passed away 34 years ago. Those recipes, in her handwriting, with her notes and all the spills and stains bring back floods of memories.

You may consider doing the same with some of those family recipes.

Just an idea..I print and put the recipes in page protectors. It's cheaper than laminating and can go in a binder easily.
