Never a dull moment

When you have teen boys. Was taking a nap when my son yelled downstairs that he was bleeding everywhere and could I help. Shot straight up, ran upstairs but am still discombobulated. Walk into the bathroom to a crime scene.

There is a blood trail from his room, he is holding his foot over the toilet and the bowl is red. Blood all over the floor.

He tells me he doesn’t need help with his foot but he didn’t want to stain the hardwood. I asked him what was wrong with his foot. He pulled a wart out with pliers. Got him a bandage but he didn’t want it because they are too pokey. You just used pliers as a medical tool but a bandaid is uncomfortable.

Now my nap is shot.

Oh Good Lord! As a parent of 3 boys, nothing they do suprises me anymore.

So nice of him to think about the hardwood though.

Just be ware, that wound may bleed for awhile and may easily break open and bleed again.

😲😲😲😲. Makes me glad I had girls...though I wouldn’t have put it passed my youngest to attempt this stunt.

Seriously, though, if the wart is on the bottom of his foot, it’s going to take a long time to heal. Every time he puts pressure on the area, it could bleed again.

Can you say infection? At least the blood made him tell you about it so you can keep an eye on it!

It only gets better. I just went up to check on him. His room stinks. He put COMPOUND W directly in the hole “to make sure he got it all”.

And this is my son that has common sense. I just told him that he is cutting wood tomorrow even if his foot falls off. I was going to wait until later for an adult beverage but I just might have something now. It was too long of a day for this.

Oh, Teddi, every part of this story makes me cringe—and makes me glad my kids are no longer teenagers. I hope you’re having that well-deserved drink.

”He Macgyvered his wart.”

Did he not scream or at least hiss loudly when applying the Compound W? I suppose you shouldn’t tell him about putting duct t ape on a wart to remove it.

I laughed out loud repeatedly at this story!

I know he must have been in pain and I hope his foot heals completely.

We have two adult sons.

I'm glad they're on and living in another city so I no knowledge of their antics.

This thread gives me full body shivers.

It brings back memories that hit too close to home.
