Do you ever forget to eat?

DH came home from golfing this morning exhausted. He golfed 18 holes in 80+ degrees. With restrictions at the course there are not water stations, but he did buy a Gatorade. I asked if he remembered to take his usual snack (peanut butter cheese crackers). Yes, he had them, but forgot to eat them. If that were me I would have probably had them gulped down before the third hole (and I donít even really like them)

You’re my friend. I have never, in my entire life, forgotten to eat. I wish I could forget to eat; I wish food was unimportant to me.

Not a chance. My dh is like that, too. If I have it, even if it is my emergency snack, I don't forget to eat it.

Sometimes I forget to eat breakfast. I did it more during remote learning as I was flat out all day long the first 6 weeks or so.

Yes, often. I can never get in all the calories i need in a day. Just distracted i think. I hardly ever get hungry so its hard for me to remember to eat.

Yes, when I am teaching. I work through lunch as I hate stay late. I often had kids in the room for clubs ( my choice- it was all fun stuff) and would sometimes forget to eat. Or as a resource teacher I have meetings and lessons around lunch time and forget. Usually at around 1:30/2:00 I realize my stomach is making weird noises, haha.

If Iím busy/focused on something I rarely will stop to eat.
Also, I know many people will stress eat but Iím the exact opposite. If Iím really stressed I have no appetite so end up not eating much.

My schedule being home is completely off regarding meals.
I have coffee and breakfast normally around 8:00 (Iím normally up around 6:00 but have to wait to eat or I get sick).
Then, I normally have a tiny snack around noon and will eat lunch/dinner around 4:30 and thatís it for the day.

I eat when Iím hungry and thatís just the way it has worked out.
Iíve always been more of a snacker/grazer compared to large meals though.
I love a good charcuterie board!

Never. I'm planning my next meal as I'm eating my current meal. Some people, like my brother eat to live, I live to eat. It certainly explains the insane weight gain.

Yes I frequently forget to eat. I do better during the school year because we eat lunch with our students so eating is a planned activity during the school day. During the summer I often don't remember to eat until I start planning and preparing my family's evening meal. I like food but rarely feel hungry. I also have an incredibly slow metabolism.

Regularly. I'll either forget or tell myself I'll eat after I finish whatever project I'm working on and then lose track of time. DH has taken to asking if I've eaten yet that day whenever he gets home from work.

Like Lilbitkim, I also "stress don't eat."

However, it's not that I don't like food. I can also consume a huge amount of food in a short amount of time if it's something I really like.

I do this too!

I love food, but very occasionally if I'm very engrossed in something I'll forget to eat. More like, I don't realize how much time has passed and in the back of my mind I think I'm going to eat soon. When we first switched over to online learning is a good example.

We had TWO DAYS to learn all of the platforms/apps and have lessons uploaded into Seesaw and google classroom. I didn't know how to use any of the tech beforehand as it doesn't make sense to use during my "real job" and since I have multiple grade levels, I had to learn/use everything and I didn't have anyone to split up work with. I was so busy and overwhelmed. That first week, every day I would realize around 8-9 PM that I hadn't eaten yet.

Very occasionally if it's a non-student day at work and I get really wrapped up in something, I realize at like 2-3 PM that I never stopped and ate my lunch. In those cases I usually just leave the (healthy) lunch and use the excuse that I haven't had any calories yet that day to get something bad for dinner .

This is me. And then it is only an hour or so until dinner, so I have a beer instead.

I only forget to eat when I'm sewing. Sometimes I'm just so focused on it that the time flies by and I realize I forgot to eat!

No I don't forget but I can put it off for awhile. I am not a sit down and eat a meal person; I graze in small amounts.

Forget to eat
Old 07-02-2020, 04:40 PM

When I was working, I would bring my breakfast to school. In the last three years, At least once a month, I would stop around 9:30 and say out loud ďOh, I forgot to eat my yogurt.Ē

Sadly, it hasnt happened since.

I don't know that I "forget," per se, but I do sometimes not have time and then the urge tends to go away after a while (until it comes back in a HUGE way).

With my schedule the way it currently is, I'm now eating my first food of the day (it's 6pm here). On busy days, it's often like that. It's not that I forget, just that I didn't have time and I didn't prioritize eating over other things that needed to get done. It happens less since I've been at home, but still happens on the "right" days.

Do I forget to eat?

No. Never. Ever. I just can't imagine forgetting to eat. It would be like forgetting to breathe.

I can tell you exactly what's in my fridge and when I plan to eat it. And I wonder why I can't lose weight....

I do quite a lot. In fact, I was joking with a friend that when I'm old she's going to need to call me and ask if I ate that day. Often I'm just not hungry, or when I do get hungry I realize it's because I unintentionally skipped a meal. Unfortunately I don't look like I skip meals.
