Does anyone use two way communication with their parents in the classroom? About 4 of my parents use email regularly with me. Other wise they use the note method int he folder. Does anyone have a form or other kind of procedure they are willing to share?

We have agenda's at our school that the children write their assignments in and after doing so I intial them everyday. I can also write notes in the agenda and/or the parents can write back to me. It keeps all the notes in one location.

Our school has planners for 2nd graders thru 5th. It is just a bit more difficult for our kids to write messages in the planners. I do use the planner to send notes. thanks for your imput.

I use email more than notes and phone calls, because it is so easy.

I type up a weekly newsletter and send it home on Mondays letting the parents know any upcoming events, announcements, homework, etc. I also have a website that I upgrade weekly through teacherweb.

FISH binder

I use an idea I got from PT. I use the FISH binders in my classroom (First Grade Information Stored Here) and one of my tabs is for parent communication. I have parents write notes on a log I created or on the bottom of my homework log, which is where I check off homework for the day. On the bottom of my homework log, I list how many sticks the students were left with for the day, based on behavior, so the parent knows how the child's day was.
