Which Brand of Dry Erase Marker Do You Use?

After 12 years of putting up with Expo brand dry erase markers and all that comes with them (my students pushing the tips in, me pulling the tips back out with tweezers, drying out rather quickly, tips splitting and 'turning into an eraser' as the kids say), it finally dawned on me to ask you all. What brand do you use that come with little or no maintenance. They don't have to be washable. I can't wait to hear what you have to say.

I use Expo. I have tried all different kinds of markers and none work as well or erase as well. I let the kids use the old Expo. They get a big lecture on pushing the tips in and the markers are taken away if it happens. It's happened once.

I use the Office Max brand and they have worked way better for me. They are cheaper too. At the beginning of the school year they usually have them buy one get one free. They come in a pack of 12 for around $8.00

Expo or Bic

Expo when they're on sale...but Bic's are really really durable and have brighter colors than Expo. The only downside they smear more and require more clean up. So I use them (BIC) more so than the kids.

Lakeshore all the way

I only use the markers from Lakeshore. No dust when erasing. I have also used the Crayola ones and they aren't bad. No Expo for me. The dust is awful to clean off our whiteboard. (Maybe it's the cheap non-magnetic board that's in our rooms and not the markers.)

I found packs at Dollar General of 5 colors for $2. They are thin, not thick but are working great for the kids. I only bought two packs because
I didn't know if they would be good. Now, I need to go stock up on more.

I have 3 different kinds and I have found the Expo are the boldest consistently.
I have multiple sets of 2 other brands(a gift from another teacher friend).
I do think they seem to last longer than the Expo and I noticed that I have not had any of the other brands that the tips pushed in on.
The thing I love most about the Expo though is that they are very bold and vibrant and the other 2 brands don't seem to be nearly as bold, even though overall they last longer.

I'm using up the other brands first and saving the Expos for later in the year(except for black which I go through like crazy)

Expo because it's what's available for students to purchase as it's on their supply list.
