I just watched the new episode and I have to ask: How in the world do they afford the houses they are living in? I think the dad is the only one working right now. He is supporting 16 kids and 4 wives. I just don't get it. How much do they get paid for doing the show?

I'll do a reality show if they would pay me enough for one house! Do you think a reality show about an over-worked, under appreciated teacher would get good ratings?

Probably not a big hit but you wouldn't have to worry about actors to play the part !!

My question is, Why are they so shocked and dismayed that people (including the law) are "looking" at their family now??? They CHOSE to go on national TV!! If I have had a family history of my grandparents being jailed and their families torn apart, I probably wouldn't make the choice to publically expose that I was doing the same thing....

I also wondered how in the world they are able to afford all of those houses. Something about separate houses adds an "ick" factor to the whole thing for me. Before Robyn I got to the point where I thought "to each their own" because they seemed like a happy family. That changed when he added a younger wife that got a special wedding. I get that the other wives knew what they were getting into but I can't help but feel sorry for them.

ETA: My prediction is that they move back home in the season finale.

I saw the final episode of last season, and they kept mentioning their "limited" and "finite" resources, but I don't know what kind of money they had. It didn't really make sense to me.

I think its weird having them in different houses..but it seems to be driving a wedge between them. They seem to be fighting more than normal!! It's kinda hard to get into it when they keep going off air!

The difference to me, with the separate houses, seems to be that he is now some guy going from house to house to shack up with 4 different women. There is no "sister wife" feel that the women sold initially as part of their choice in the lifestyle. It seems to me that if they can afford 4 houses like they have shown (although I didn't see Robyn's??) then they could've afforded one really big house (or at least 2 side by side). I think this way the icky guy can be all alone with Robyn a lot more & that was probably his intent. JMHO

They wanted one big house with 16 bedrooms but that doesn't exisit, at least in their price range, in Los Vegas. They also hoped for 4 houses next to each other on a cul de sac but their offer on those houses didn't work out. There is a certain tension among the sister-wives since the move.

I'm shocked he can handle that many wives. I love my wife, but she is all the lady I can handle(That sounds much worse than I mean it to sound!) I couldn't imagine having multiple wives!
