Clip to ScrapBook #1

This summer I've been reading the Whole Brain Teaching book and have gotten pretty excited about using it this coming school year. I was wondering if anyone has posters that have the 5-rules on them.

Thanks!

If you go on the Whole Brain Teaching website, there are some!

www. whole brain teaching .com

Take out all of the spaces. ProTeacher won't let me put the link here.

There are all kinds of resources on here. I just did one of my Master's presentations on WBT yesterday. I am going to implement this into my 1st grade classroom this fall.

I'll definitely check out the website and see what they have to offer!

I teach 1st also, and am looking forward to doing WBT. Do you plan on teaching just class-yes on the first day?

I made my own signs before this kind teacher gave away all her hard work! Her signs are kid friendly.

We'll do class/yes and the rules the first day. I plan to introduce the Super Improvers Wall, too. But I think I may do MIRROR first. That way, they will mirror me as I teach the rules.

I think I will teach class-yes and hands and eyes. Then as we get into some actual lessons, I'll teach "mirror". I'm also coming up with some different ways to cheer so that we don't just do "Oh, yeah!" every time. I'm working on a poster.

Here are some of my ideas...

Pirate cheer "Yo Ho Ho!"

Surfer cheer "Awesome, Dude!"
