I'm now at home! Had the cardiac catherization this morning. I was beyond scarred. Hardly slept last night. They were able to do it through my arm instead of groin. Test results showed no blockage or plaque. It did reveal that my heart ejection rate is 50%. This a lower than normal pumping rate. If it goes below 40% they would consider a pacemaker. Cardiologist said the pain is indeed related to the disc trouble in my back and neck. Glad it wasn't a heart attack. Have to rest for 48 hours more-no teaching-driving-or housework. Had a great nurse through the procedure today. He sensed that i was scarred and kept telling me what was happening next in such a calming voice. He made sure I was warm and comfortable.

Rest and relax while you are off. You deserve it. Try to watch a funny movie or something similar. Do NOT think about school or whatever stresses you in the least.

Of course you were scared, who wouldn't be! I am so glad that you had an understanding nurse who helped keep you comfortable and relaxed.
I hope you've got a good book at your bedside, and some things on the dvr to keep you occupied.

Rest up!
Dee

Now you can breathe, not knowing is the worst. I am thrilled you have no blockage.

So glad you are on the mend. Try to relax. It's okay to take time to get back in fighting shape.
