Saxon math 32 count refill

Just curious Saxon math people...I am filing the 32 count set and found out that my first 3 boxes were all 24 count and the box labeled 4 had the last 8 copies for each lesson. I did not notice this of course until after filing the first whole box. Ugh! I don't remember it coming like this before. I seem to remember all 32 coming together. Have any of you encountered the same issue? I wish there was a warning in the first box! Maybe we got an older edition? 😁

I wonder if they are changing Saxon and they want to get rid of old inventory and made extra copies to make up the 32 sets? I will check my order when I comes in. Don't you just love filing alllllll those worksheets?

It may be due to larger class sizes.

I have had errors from them before. We had a box labeled box 4 but it was a repeat of box 1 materials. I HATE filing!!!

It has been like that the last few years for me too. Really a pain when it comes to filing.

Thanks everyone for your comments! I thought I had this nailed down from doing it for at least 8 years now but apparently not. 😄 And now I know it's not just my set. If I didn't have more than 24 in my class this wouldn't be a problem, but I guess that's a whole other issue for another day!

Gotta love filing those Saxon worksheets, right?! Actually, I had my TA (I get her for an hour a day) filing those today...Yes, I am very fortunate!!

We have the 24 count sets and they are in 3 boxes. They probably just make all the sets the same and then have that extra 4th box if it's needed, maybe? Super annoying and more work for you, though!

I have a question for you - Does it all actually fit in there with 32 count sets of everything?? Even with 24 (I actually thought it was 25, but guess I was wrong) those boxes get VERY snug when they're completely full.

Saving $ ?

We've had similar 24+8 issues at my site. For some reason, I got the impression that ordering the sheets that way saved money. I could be wrong.

Two years ago I gave up filing the Saxon sheets (even though I never did it; a parent volunteer would do it for me). I decided to try an experiment: I just left the sheets in their boxes until it came time to pull the needed sheets. Once a week I'd have an upper grade volunteer pull and sort the sheets needed for the upcoming week. Guess what? It was worked wonderfully! The way I see it, filing the sheets adds an unnecessary step. Having the copies pre-made is supposed to SAVE us time, right?

Plus, I've never liked giving up floorspace for the bulky Saxon file tubs. It's much easier to shelve the shipping boxes until they're needed.

Just a thought.

You're right...the 32 count don't usually fit especially if you file the fact cards with it too! I inherited somehow an extra tub and that helps me out but others usually have to use a crate.😁

How did I never think of filing fact cards with the lessons before?! Genius!

Trying a file cabinet this year..

I have used Saxon for the last 6 years and too dread the arrival of the 5 boxes (3 of paper, and 2 of student and teacher materials). I have cleared an entire file cabinet and will be putting the sheets and teacher lesson pages in there this year. I am looking forward to not having the stack of Saxon tubs in my room! Although, they came in very handy for transporting stuff for summer school since I was in another teacher's room!
