My students just took a math test on addition. Several students had errors where they didn't correctly match the addends to the groups shown. So I made a game for them to play to practice matching the number expressions with a pictorial representation-the dot arrangements on domino cards.

I will attach the directions below. I included ideas of other ways to use the game boards and cards. The directions are a word doc. I was having trouble saving the document as a .pdf file. Every time I saved it as a .pdf file, yellow and black circles appeared on it covering up some of the words and some of my graphics disappeared. I'm not sure if the word doc will upload correctly. I'm crossing my fingers.

I will attach the game boards and sets of cards in separate posts. I saved those as .pdf files so they should be okay.

Some of the sets of cards could also be used for subtraction practice once students understand that addition and subtraction are inverse operations. Students who have a good grasp of the concepts of addition and subtraction could use the cards to work on related facts and fact families.

Each set of cards has two pages-21 cards and some blank cards. The third page is the label that you can print on the back of the cards.

I hope that someone will be able to use these materials.
