ME update

This got long, I'm sorry...

I usually update y'all about my DD. Today I'll update you about me. School started Wednesday. I have some super low kids this year (I teach 4th). Lots of blank stares...Beginning of the year, I always forget how hard this is.
I'm overwhelmed with emotions. DD seems to be doing ok, but some seriously strict teachers this year. Syllabus on 3 say in bold, italicized and underlined, NO LATE WORK, NO EXCEPTIONS, DON'T EVEN ASK NO YOU CAN'T.
No pressure there.

Any way, Life is pressing down on me.
Home ownership
laundry
dishes
appointments
yard work
pets
DD who needs help
back at work
tired
out of shape
LONELY
caught in a depression cycle

I mean, I guess I'm ok. But no one reaches out to me. I have no friends. Even facebook friends and tumblr friends have not reached out to me in over a week. I think right now I'm overwhelmed, sad and lonely.

Medication, yes. Therapist, yes. But not sure what else to do, so thank you to those who asked me for an update. It's the first connection I've made with people outside of work in almost 2 weeks.

Sorry, this got long. Right now, it's not even day to day. It's hour to hour.

At least the Packers won last night, so I got that going for me, which is nice.

Thanks guys. Sorry for the depressing update.

I hope that your class, even though low, is sweet and loving, and is just what you need to make you feel better. I hope that the strictness of DD's teachers makes her tow the line. I'm hoping for small blessings in each of those things that seem overwhelming right now. My prayers are with you.

So glad you posted. The beginning of the year is overwhelming for those whose lives are going smoothly at the moment, and you have so much on your plate.

It sounds like your DD is off yo a good start, so try to stay focused on you. I hope your class is kind and sweet. You can handle their academics.

Keep putting one foot in front of the other.

I am glad you checked in with us today Loneliness is a common problem among most people these days and the internet is partially to blame. Hang in there with your low class; I tested my kinder kids today and the alphabet knowledge is very low. None of my students have learned to take turns talking during a discussion. The first month of school,no matter the age, is tough.

....you should be happy! Seriously, last year I subbed at my old middle school and snagged as many 6th grade positions as I could. I mean, I'm an 8th grade person. But those kids were so sweet and worked so hard (well, except for homework or finishing assignments). Every time I'd tell another 6th grade teacher about how I loved their kids, they'd agree (and add, but they are low). As long as you can reach them, right? I know about the friends thing. Mine are all getting ready to go back to work, so haven't talked to them in real life in at least a week. Just keep on truckin'! Go Bears!

You didn't ask for advice so let's see how I can put this...

I wonder -- what do you think about posting the same day every week on PT. About something, anything. School, pets, the house -- any of it. Think about what would be the best day for you to post. Sunday, Friday -- whatever.

We could get to know each other better and find more ways to connect.

(((hugs)))

Sending you hugs! Wish I could do more for you...I hope the weekend can bring you a little peace and time to enjoy something- a movie, a walk, a cup of coffee on the porch, or at least a little time to get some things done.

I'm sorry things are rough for you right now. I'm having a pity party myself, so I know the feeling. If I lived closer, I'd invite you over for drinks.

Hugs to you. Hope things look up soon.

I am glad you are on medication and seeing a therapist. I am not sure how long you have been on it, but you may need something different, something added to give it a boost, or a different dosage. As for the list of things, each day focus on one thing you can accomplish. Crossing even one thing off your list will make you feel better!
