Ok I find myself to pretty good with technology, but editable pdf files have me stumped. I've downloaded job charts and storage labels that are suppose to be editable, but I can't figure out how to add text or change text. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Are there only certain pages that are editable? I've had that happen that many pages were secured and only some were editable.

In my experience with editable PDF files, all I had to do was click onto a text box (that was already provided) and type. I could also change the font and the font size.

Chances are the entire pdf file isn't editable. Are you sure the editable part is in PDF or is it in a Powerpoint file? If you purchased it from TPT then, in my experience, the PDF version is just for printing and the Powerpoint version is for editing.

It was a pdf, but there is no where to select to add text. I'll try a few others and see if I can add text to them.

If you’re using a Mac, open it in preview. You can open an editing toolbar where you can annotate. I’m on my phone now, so can’t remember exactly what it looks like. You can’t edit what’s already there, but you can add text and shapes. I always add text using a text box so I can place it where I want it.

https://pdfcandy.com/

I just learned of this website and haven’t used it myself, but I’m told that by clicking “convert from” should give you a ton of options with pdf files.

this as I didn't read the other responses closely, but...

There should also be a button somewhere on your pdf reader that highlights the editable places. It will not help you add something anywhere you like, but it will show you the places the author meant you to add or change things.

For me, it decreases some of my frustration because then I can see if I am supposed to be able to type there.
