Why aren't they closing Casinos?

Maryland hasn't closed their casinos yet they closed schools, senior centers, courts and libraries among other things. I don't get it. Closing schools are more about protecting older adults. Where do a lot of older adults go? It's not time to think about the almighty dollar. Either we are shutting down areas large groups gather or we aren't.

We have casinos across the border from us in OK and in LA. I haven't heard of them closing but they need to. Talk about a hotbed of germs.

Iíve wondered about Las Vegas. I know theyíve closed buffets and some have canceled shows but Iíd think the gaming area would be the worst. Everyone touching the machines and gathered close together around the tables.

Someone asked about this in my area and the consensus was that they won't close unless forced to by the state.

Perhaps they are hoping that all the spilled liquor will keep the place sanitized.

Technically, the casinos near me are not

under the auspices of the Federal Government, so they are not required to close. I did hear that they might close, though.

Huh, I hadn't thought of that (I'm not a casino goer), so I looked up the two closest (huge) casinos. One is closing for cleaning on a regular rotating basis, the other has cancelled all big events (they both have concerts coming through regularly) and is allowing less than 250 people in at a time and encouraging social distancing (the governor banned all groups of 250 or more).

I'm also in Maryland, and yes, the governor has ordered all casinos closed!

Some of th casinos are closing in Michigan effective tomorrow. Others in the state are staying open but canceling scheduled performances. I honestly foresee that changing though with all closing. Our state government is really on top of things.

DSS is a promotions coordinator at a gaming facility, and they are closing for 14 days beginning tonight. DSS will be working from home.
