Ordering Blinds
Old 06-25-2020, 04:26 PM

We have some old/broken horizontal blinds that we are planning to replace on our bedroom windows. Anyone have a type of blind they love? I was leaning towards cellular shades, but I don't know much about them.

Also, does anyone have any online sites they have used to order blinds that they can recommend? TIA for any help!

We got ours at Walmart and have cordless cellular blinds. I found Walmart to be cheaper and had our sizes. I really like them

I have ordered from Blinds.com and they have been great. They have videos for how to measure and I have called and talked to customer service both times when ordering. They walked my husband and I through the measuring process, answered our questions, and even ordered extra clips for the valances we ordered 2 yrs ago. I highly recommend them.

We have ordered several cellular blinds from blinds.com and they have been awesome. Two of the three were for odd sized windows and their videos walked us through how to measure them to get an exact fit. All have been easy to install and arrived quickly. If you watch they frequently have sales and you can get a much lower price. Two of the blinds are several years old and look as good as new!

We have cordless cellular blinds. I definitely prefer the cordless option. I believe we got some from Lowe’s but not sure where we got the others—- Menard’s maybe.

They were exceptional!!! Got all my blinds from them a few years ago. I wimped out ordering them online and called, but the guy found my entire order and went through each and every item with me.

I also called back a couple times, asked, and got the same rep each time!

I have a particularly odd arched window (solid glass, no half-moon at the top), and DH and I could not agree on how to treat it. He had me text a photo and guided us! (And told me what a beautiful view of the Rocky Mtns I have. )

The rep also informed me that the Bali blinds, on sale at the time, would be cheaper and a higher quality than their house brand.

2 blinds came and were too short. Their mistake, immediate replacement and told to donate the wrong ones somewhere.

Would order from them again in a heartbeat.

Budget Blinds

We got some blinds from budget blinds. They came and measured and then installed them. They were far from budget friendly.

We have I'd say 2" wooden blinds and then the same size faux wood blinds in a couple of windows. I like the faux ones better (it's in our bathroom and kitchen).

If I was doing it again, I'd go with the remote control ones! I know it's just something else to break, but I love the idea of not having to go to each window and open/close the blinds!

I've always had good luck with Next Day Blinds. I love plantation shutters.

I looked at blinds.com. Must be gold-plated. That is not in our budget.

I just replaced some in my kitchen. I got them from Menards. They were cheap I feel as well. They are cordless and room darkening also.

I took the plunge and ordered a wide 2” pleated shade. It’s cordless and has the ability to adjust from the bottom up or the top down. I absolutely love it! I’ve bought several less expensive shades, and have discovered that you get what you pay for with window treatments. I highly recommend blinds.com.
