Looking for face masks

So my husband bought us a couple of homemade cloth masks from someone who was making them when this whole thing started. One of them broke almost immediately and I had to sew it, plus they're thick and hot. We also have a box of disposable masks that are more comfortable but I don't want to have to keep buying them as they run out.
I don't go out a whole lot but knowing that there's the possibility of returning to school in August, I want to buy a good quality mask that won't make me feel like I'm suffocating and can be worn for a long period of time if needed. I'd love to hear what everyone is using and where you purchased it.

Thanks in advance!

There have been several threads where others ask for mask recommendations. I did a quick search here in PT and found this thread, but there are many others, as well.

Well, you might have to reorder disposables on a regular basis as they run out. I keep a few boxes (of 50), but after a while start to reorder in plenty of time and allow 2 to even 3 months for them to arrive due to everything being slower and backed up.

I also have a few fabric ones on hand, which I haven't worn just yet. I ordered them online and they took a long time to come too. I'm thinking I like disposable masks better so I can just throw them away after 1 maybe 2 uses.

I have some disposable and fabric companies I've bookmarked to order from next time. I've never tried any of these just yet:

If you go on Etsy, there are tons. I really like www.barelyboa.com They're on the higher end, but the c quality is excellent and I like the shape.

There are a lot of different styles out there, so it's worth trying out a few and reading up on fabrics and fit to find the one best for you.

I've ordered from Jasmine. I haven't worn one yet, but it seems like it will work well. I'm especially interested in seeing how the cooling packs work, as the masks I currently have and wear are 3 layers of cotton and get pretty warm.

I really don't like how warm they make me, so I'm playing with the idea of having 4-5 to use each day at school, so I can change them out every couple of hours as they get sweaty.

I also thought I'd try making homemade ice packs that I could possibly put in the mask along the cheek area to help with keeping it cool. I could then change those out every few hours.

Vistaprint has very comfortable masks with adjustable ear loops and a filter pocket. The material is soft and light.

I picked some up at Target. They are the most comfortable I've had. The best way to describe them is like cotton panties

I now keep seeing ads with the clear vinyl section sewn in the part that goes in front of your mouth. I think those would be even hotter! I know teachers are concerned about teaching phonics to younger kids as our programs have to do with lip and tongue and mouth awareness for certain sounds, or kids being able to see them smile, but those sound miserable to wear.

I wasn't bothering with ones that have the nose wire because I'd heard the function of that was to keep glasses from fogging up and I wear contacts. I ended up getting some from a friend's mom who was just giving them away, and they have the nose wire in them. It's a HUGE difference in comfort and function.

It helps shape the mask better so it's not right up against my mouth, so I feel like it doesn't get gross and I also feel like I can breathe WAY better. I also form the wire to the shape of my nose which keeps the mask mostly out of my peripheral vision. That was something else that was driving me crazy with my other masks- when I looked down I couldn't see anything but mask.

So I have no seller's advice but definitely look for ones that have the nose wire! I had been miserable every time I had to wear my mask and this made such a difference. It's still somewhat irritating just having something on my face, but I can breathe and see! I had to wear mine for a 90 minute event the other day and it wasn't bothering me that much at all- and this is after struggling to get through the grocery store with my old mask on.

I have bought several times from Jasmine20. They have the nose wire and you can adjust them. I like the wideness of them too. I bought but haven't used the cooling beads, but I am starting to have to work in the office instead of home so I will be using the cooling beads soon.

If you buy on-line from Amazon becareful that they are not from China. I ordered not realizing they came from China. I ended up after 2 months finally getting reimbursed from Amazon since the seller refused. The delay was the fact they were stuck at the airport. So again, becareful where you order them from.
