Hi,
I need some recommendations for Chapter Books series (for boys) that don't involve zombies, ghosts etc...

Thank You.

From what I've heard, I think Hank the Cowdog is a good series. Also, the Magic Tree House books are good. There are a few in the series that are about ghosts and other things that may be questionable in your school. For the most part, however, they should be ok.

I know the boys in my class LOVE The Diary of a Wimpy Kid books, Magic Tree House books, and any non fiction sports books I can get my hands onto. Some of my higher readers are also enjoying Harry Potter series and Gregor the Overlander series.

I know these are old, but I know in the past my kids have loved Encyclopedia Brown, and Hardy Boys.

Also, any Bill Wallace books

Who was...Book Series...

My third grade boys LOVED the Who Was...Book series. The author is Judith Bloom Fradin. She has a bunch of books about different presidents, leaders, athletes, etc. that teaches the students about these people and why they were so influential. I think most book orders carry this author. Also, Judy Bloom (Tales of 4th Grade Nothing Series) and most books by Dan Gutman are pretty popular too!

is a really good chapter book series about some boys that go back in time to the "dinosaur days". The boys in my class really enjoy them.

My third grade boys love Jon Scieska's series, The Time Warp Trio. They travel back in time with real historic char. and places and have to retrieve "THE BOOK" to get back home every time. Check it out on his site guysread.com

The Dragon Slayers Academy books. They are funny, have adventure and they are about dragons. I am reading the Field Trip To the Cave of Doom right now as a read aloud and the whole class loves these books, especially the boys!
