Clip to ScrapBook #1

I am beginning my first preschool teaching job and was wondering if you could share some wonderful/useful websites!
Also, Besides Thanksgiving and Harvest any other theme ideas for the end of November would be great! I am in need of something for the last week of November!
Thanks in advance.

helpful websites for new teachers

http://www.dltk-kids.com and http://www.abcteach.com are two of my favorite websites for this age group. they both offer a good variety of ideas. i also love www.preschoolexpress.com, and www.kinderkonnect.com.

our class usually has a week of reviewing letters and numbers, and reading favorite books during the last week of november (since we've been out of school for a whole week for thanksgiving holidays) and it usually takes the children a few days to get back into their routine. then we go ahead and begin on holiday decorations and take a fieldtrip to find our class christmas tree. there is never enough time to get everything done for christmas, so we start as soon as we can.

good luck with your new job!

Hi! I was just telling another poster about something I had found on ebay. I know it sounds silly but I found some awesome activities that I could use in my class. The seller is a teacher and she was really helpful at sending me any extras that I needed or asked for. I've bought three of them from her now and I have gone through the one on Community Helpers and the one on Christmas--still haven't had time yet to go through the Winter Theme. Anyways, if you want to see it, one of the ones I had bought is Item #5638991225.

Also remember there are a ton of free sources online. Go to yahoo and do a search and you will come up with a ton of information.

Good luck!!
Karen

Three Little Pigs/Tooth Pick House

I read the story The Three Little Pigs to my fours group. After reading the story, the children and I discussed the different materials used to build the Pigs Houses. The children decided to make a house using tooth picks. Set up the art table with construction paper, glue and colorful toothpicks. Let the children work their magic.
