Where did you go on your first date?

Not with your SO, but your first date ever.

If you're like me that was so long ago. Mine was a church function. I was sixteen.

was a school dance. My date and i walked there and back (it was a small town) I got my first kiss when we were standing on my porch saying good bye. I looked up at him to tell him I had had a good time and he bent and kissed me! Surprised me so much I didn't even close my eyes! My mother must have been watching because she opened the door after he left and had a great big smile and said "Did you have a good time?" I was embarressed! but happy

just adding that I was fifteen.

My 16 birthday
Old 03-05-2014, 07:48 AM

My parents had a strict rule that I couldn't date until I was 16. On my 16th birthday a friend asked me to a play our school was putting on. We held hands but never kissed. I remember coming home and telling my parents. My dad thought it was funny that the day I turned 16 I wanted to start dating.

I didn't have many boyfriends in high school and the ones I had were really just "friends". I remember going in groups to football games and movies, but not really dates. The one that I remember as the first date was when I was jr. and he was a sr. He took me to a concert at the local theme park. He was so sweet and I remember when we got back to my house he kissed me on the lips. Wow! We went out a couple times after that to a movie or something, then he was off to college. He wrote a really sweet note in my yearbook that he would always love me....
I heard a few years ago that he had been divorced about 3 times!

My strict parents wouldn't let me date until I was 18. When my first date opportunity came up, I was afraid to tell my parents (even though I was old enough...18). My gal pal & I talked about how I'd may like I was going to the movies with her (meeting each other in our own cars) when in fact, I was picking up this guy at his house & going to the movies. I forgot what movie it was. I soon told my parents about him, so there was no sneaking around for even weeks or anything like that.

My 2nd first date with my next SO was nicer. I was in my early 20s & he came to the house to pick me up & met my parents. Oddly, my boss at the time was there setting up our new computer at the time, so he got to meet him too. Although we just went to the movies, my SO wore a suit. We saw Titanic.

My mom said I had to wait til I was 16. A boy asked me to go to Pizza Hut a week before I turned 16. I told him my mom's rule. He was so sweet. My mom worked at school, so he went to her office and asked if she would allow him to take me to Pizza Hut a week early on a date. She said YES!!! He was a great guy. We dated for over a year! I loved that first date!! Still get all warm and gushy when I think of it We had a great time and he had me home by 10pm. My mom loved that guy too!

I was also told that I couldn't date until I was 16. I was asked to the Junior/Senior Prom when I was a junior. We were pretty good friends, but it was sooooo boring. He didn't talk to me. I didn't talk to him. I finally created a story that I had to be home much earlier than I needed to be. Just to get out of there and go home. Years later, he and I are FB friends but he has never really done anything with his life. Glad I found him boring!

We went to my junior prom. First date. First prom. First time driving without an adult. It was a big night. He was a sophomore, so he wasn't old enough to drive.

I was 15. I had met him at a school dance. We went to a party at his friend's house. We were sitting on a couch, talking, getting to know each other. Then he moved in for our first kiss, and, much to my horror, tried to stick his tongue in my mouth! I clamped my lips together and tried to hide my disgust! He asked me what was the matter, didn't I French kiss? I didn't even know what a French kiss was! He taught me how, and I did come to enjoy it, but I will never forget that moment!

I was 14. I had a major junior high crush on him. He asked me if I wanted to go together to a party that one of our group was putting on. He came and picked me up and my parents were so embarrassing. We walked to the friend's party, and I don't think we said a word. Then he ignored me the rest of the night. I was annoyed and when it was time to go, I told him I'd walk home with my friend who lived across the street. And that was that. Major crush over.

Mine was to a movie with a boy I met at the beach...I was 15 and not allowed to date until I was 16 but my parents let me go, I think because we were only at the beach for a week so it couldn't go very far! He was a terrible kisser - we actually bumped teeth! My first official date back at home after that was to O'Charley's (I remember we ate potato skins ) and a movie.

I was 15 and a freshman in HS (so was he). I asked him to the Backwards Dance (Sadie Hawkins). Well, about a week before the dance my dad had gotten tickets to the Chicago Bulls game. He went with us to the game and out for pizza afterwards. Nothing like your first date with your dad in the car!

I never really had a real date until college. The first boy I dated was when I was 18 and had just graduated from high school. I was at Interlochen Music camp for the summer and we danced together at one of the dances the camp put on. We sort of hung out a little after that throughout our camp stay of eight weeks.

My first real long term relationship happened when I was 20. We met while working at Cedar Point and happened to attend the same University so we dated during that school year as well. It lasted about a year total.

I do not remember my first date. I do remember dating my sweetheart at 15, he taught me how to drive, his dad took us up in his small plane, we went for pizza and the pizza parlor was crowded, I was extremely shy, so we left and ate the pizza picnic style at a rest area up the road a bit. It was beautiful and I thought so romantic. (Sorry for the bad punctuation).

a warning for parents of girls...

I was 15 and went to Sunday dinner at his parents' house. They used the fine china, etc. I was so nervous. I went somewhere else with him, but don't remember where. He then wanted to cook hamburgers one afternoon when his parents were gone. My folks wouldn't let me go without his parents being there. That was the end of that. He started dating a friend. A few years later, I found out he'd invited her to his house when his parents were gone. She went and he drugged and raped her.
I am very thankful my parents wouldn't let me go to his house alone. That was 1976.

Homecoming dance my freshman year.

He was a junior and I was a freshman. I was 14. My parents had said I couldn't date until I was 16, but changed their minds when I was asked to homecoming. We double dated with my best friend and her date. I remember the huge yellow corsage our high school sold for homecoming ing. It had a big green letter P in it for the first letter in the name of our school. No one would dare wear one of those these days. My big brother's best friend was in the band that played at the dance, so I had to behave myself. He was watching us like a hawk.

I actually don't remember my very first date! I am sitting here thinking and can come up with memories of pieces of dates, but not the very first one. I went out with a guy from work, but we just sort of hung out after work with the group, so I don't think that really counts. There were no sparks, and he ended up dating another girl (my friend at the time) and his friend asked me out. He ended up being my boyfriend off and on for he next 2 years, so this is why I don't remember the exact first date. I have so many memories of us hanging out as a group, going on movie dates and dinner dates, but I seem to remember going to an arcade and that he bought me flowers, so I think that was the first one. I'm only in my forties, but wow that's been a long time ago!

To eat oysters over on the beachside during bike week! It was quite the experience! I was 16 too and if my dad had known where I went he would have "had a cow"!
