I have a few days of school left and I still have tons to do....assessments , paperwork, memory books, class party, etc. etc. etc. I'm doing less this year for the kids at the end than I usually do. Its just getting to be too much, and they don't really appreciate it! I will be so glad when I am done with all this. It's so overwhelming!

You'll make it! Good luck on the last few days! Your reward is just around the corner... summer!

This year I gave my kids nothing but a hug. And guess what? They were perfectly happy! We had ice cream sundae parties the last two days of school and all the kids brought toppings. I only supplied the ice cream. Let me tell you, not stressing about gift bags and the like was a true gift -- to me!

This is my first year, and my brain is officially in summer mode. Today was so difficult at school! Counting down the days is NOT making them go by any quicker - in fact, much slower! And you're right- there is so much to do right now with end-of-year wrap up of everything. I can't wait for the first day where I wake up and feel like I don't have to do anything school-related. And it's a few short weeks away!!!!

I did virtually nothing special for end of year this year. Much easier! The end kind of snuck up on me anyway.

doing much for my kids. I'm a special ed. teacher, so there isn't quite the pressure, but some of these kids I have for over half the day. I think I'll just do pencils...I copied some cute memory/autograph books and they can mess with those in dull moments in these last few days.

I teach up to 4th grade. I decided to do something a little more special with just my 4th graders since they leave me this year. We had an 'after state testing' pizza party. Right now we are watching Winn Dixie during writing class (we read the book and did lots of writing with it) and having snacks, etc. Last year I had one day for just parties. Um, not this year. I'm exhausted....

With 11 days to go, we got closed by the Bd. of Health today due to a high number of flu-like symptoms. So...now I have plenty of time to get ready for the end of the year! We have an icecream sundae party scheduled for the end of next week, so hopefully we can return on Monday and only make up the 3 days. Ugh! Luckily I'm done with assessments and report cards, so I'm in good shape. Hope the cooler weather holds out, since we'll most likely be in school until the end of June. Good times!

I usually do a lot for my kids at the end of the year.

last day of school party
memory book (that i put together...mainly for the ones that didn't have enough money to purchase a yearbook)
writing portfolios
art portfolios

etc...

this year, i was just worn out...they got the party and a goodbye hug (with their report card)

just do what you want to do and don't feel pressure to do any more than that!

Have a great summer!!!
