If you have a student of the week perhaps an option could be the student's parent reads a book to the class at a convenient time for both. (Not all parents are comfortable reading aloud.)
During March, reading month, I would have mystery readers. Always fun to give clues. Sometimes parents kept it a secret from their child. My DH and DD got involved, too, over the years.
Maybe decorate a chair for a guest reader?
Find simple reader's theatre scripts for parent to read with a small group during your center or workshop time.
