WI just extended their stay at home order until the end of May. We're in IL. I'm sure we'll follow suit. I just want to see my grandkids and by daughter. I get it, I'm just sad.
I agree. I think he may even announce that as soon as tomorrow. He seems to like the Friday big announcement.
I am grateful all our kids and grandkids are safe. Just having a pity party for 1 today. I've only had a few bad moments during this. Today was one. I will be better tomorrow.
Our moronic governor in FL has already given the go ahead to open beaches and is thinking since no children die of Covid 19 (yes, he said none have died) he thinks we might open schools back up for the 3 weeks of school left in May!
Here in VA we are still stay at home until June 10... not really sounding like that’s going to change. UVA released a study earlier this week that our governor spoke about, saying that the peak will be August. So now everyone is wondering if it will be longer :/
I get it. I feel like MD schools are in a bubble. Surrounding states are closing schools for the rest of the year but we are still waiting. Even courts are closed through June 5. I don't see how we will go back this school year.
If you are in Ohio you most likely won’t be going back to school this year. At the president’s press conference yesterday, they discussed the plan for re=opening the country gradually. Each governor gets to call the shots for his or her on state thank goodness. Each will follow a three phase plan. There also are steps to even get to phase 1. You are still sheltering in place before phase 1 starts.
In order to move to the next phase, your state needs to show 14 days of no or very few new cases each day. I don’t know about the death count. The 14 day thing needs to be there before even going to phase 1.
On phase 1 schools and bars stay closed, a few businesses open, social distancing still takes place. Older and vuhlenerable still shelter in place.
Phase 2 schools can open which by that time will be fall or later depending on the state and where they are. More stuff opens, restaurants open with social distancing.
Phase 3 closer to normal. Large events are the last thing to come back.
It was said a few states that are sparasly populated and have very few cases like Montana and Wyoming can move to phase 1 now if they want. Even their schools probably won’t open back this year since they stay closed in phase 1.
I doubt Ohio is in that category.
Illinois will announce today or tomorrow that schools are closed for in person instruction for the rest of the school year. My husband just read an article that said this.
