What summer book study is your campus doing this summer? We didn't get "summer homework" this year since we are getting a new P.

Anyone reading anything life changing?

first semester we did a book study on Growth Mindset: https://www.amazon.com/Mindsets-Clas.../dp/1618210815

it was a really good book!

second semester we did a book study on Standards-Based Grading:
https://www.amazon.com/Grading-Insid...-based+grading

(the author has been adopted by our district as the standards-based guru we are modelling our new grading policies around---over half of teachers in the district went through training with him last year, with more to come.)

pretty good book.

ETA: we did the book studies as our PLC's--we were also given (paid for) a credit for each of these!

I have never been in a school or district that mandates any such study or required reading (summer or otherwise). I'll be in a new school and district this coming academic year so I suppose that I will soon find out if this is a practice in my new community.
