Songs for my IPOD

Clip to ScrapBook #1

Hi teachers! I'm pretty new to Kindergarten so I would like to make a playlist to begin my new year! I know Dr. Jean is super popular, but if you were to create a playlist from Beginning to End of day, what songs would you recommend?

-Beginning of Day
-Transitions
-Brain Breaks
-Closing of Day

Thank you so much! I have my Calendar songs and ABC songs, but I would like songs for the above times. Thanks!

I use an ipod but always have a CD handy with all of these songs on them for substitutes. I don't want them messing with my ipod (and can't assume they know how to). The songs on the CD are a nice familiar thing for the kids when I'm gone. I have separate "calendar", "dance party", and "clean up" CDs.

Beginning of the day
Hello Neighbor (Dr. Jean)
Zip a dee doo dah (Shari Sloane)
School is Cool (Shari Sloane)
Hello Hi There (Shari Sloane)

Brain Breaks
I have a big playlist called "Dance Party". It's all our favorite get-moving to get the wiggles out/brain break songs. Sometimes I pick a stick and have that child pick a song for us to dance to. At the beginning of the year we start a list on chart paper of all the songs we love to dance to.

Dr Jean:
Going on a Bear Hunt
Tarzan
Tooty Ta
Peanut Butter
Granny At The Fair
Button Factory
Boom Chicka Boom
Bubble Gum
Dinosaur Boogie
Monkeys and Alligator
Mother Goony Bird
Pizza Hut
Pepperoni Pizza
Rules Rap

Shari Sloane:
Funky Chicken Boogie
I like to Count It, Count It (also used during calendar)

Jack Hartmann:
Any of his Nursery Rhyme songs
Gingerbread man
(wow--I have so many of his songs but never really got into them! I guess I'd better start listening! Probably some GREAT new favorites I never knew were there!)

If you go to Itunes and type in Kindergarten some really great songs are available.

I'm new to special day Kindergarten and would love to know which songs you use for calendar, ABC songs, and number songs. Thanks for any help you can offer.
