This is staggering. Prisons are a hotbox for diseases. Will it come to this here? Current cases are already being put on the side for prosecuting.

I have an added concern for this. I have an aging relative in the Washington Department of Corrections. As far as Iím concerned he needs to stay there.

They are talking about political prisoners in this scenario. You agree with the government or you go to jail. Well, thatís not working given the current situation.

I doubt weíd see this in the US, but if we did, the equivalent would be the release of non-violent drug offenders.

No one is releasing talking about releasing the Ted Bundyís of the world.

It lists specific groups. Non-violent/low-risk inmates over 56. Inmates with in 6 months of release. It totals out to ~1,900 inmates. Weíre still not talking about releasing violent felons. Itís also important to note than no one in the DOC or government is proposing this action. Civil liberties groups are proposing it. They can call for it, petition for it, etc., but they donít have the final say. Iím in no way trying to undermine your concern. Iím just trying to reassure you that unless I read it wrong or missed something, this is not cause for alarm. My hope is to be reassuring.
