I just discovered this great program when my students recieved a random letter from a student in WI. We took the challenge, but have only received a handful of letters back since we started so late (April).

Therefore, I'd like to get a head start on this for next year.

Let me know if you're interested. Reply with your class name, state, and PM me your school address. At this point I need all 50 states.

Thanks!

Below are a few websites to look at. You can also search PT, a lot of posts can be found on here. It can be done slightly different per teacher. When I go to school, I will attach the documents I used for my class.

but I was under the impression that students research areas and choose "unsuspecting" schools at random in the mail race.

Yes, students can choose random schools, however, when my students did this last year several letters got returned (school closed, etc) and most people didn't respond. My students were so disappointed. Therefore, I figure it is best to good at least half willing participates and then choose random schools from the states that do not jump on board. My ultimate goal is for my class to get more than 10 letters back (last year's record).
