Has anyone had any experience with the lessons associated with the Tx Performance Standards? I am going to use them next year with 3rd through 6th grade G/T students. Any advice or suggestions greatly appreciated!

check with you ESC... ours (region xi) has an online training class this summer to review research skills and the psp's. With the new state plan, I have a feeling a lot of people are going to be in the same boat..

Thanks. I did the online course through region 11 in May. I like the lessons in the performance standards. Since my students didn't do them last year, I'm thinking of using some of the 4th grade lessons with my 5th and 6th graders also.

Maybe we can share ideas or suggestions. I am the only teacher doing GT pullout for our five (count them FIVE) elementary schools. I have about 80 students, first through fourth, and they will each have to complete a project each year...

My current plan, since this will be the first year that we do this independently, is to do group instruction the first semester, then have each of them do their own project the second semester. Hopefully, after this year, my kids will know the process and I can do a group with first grade each year while the others get started on their independent projects.

The other thing I'm considering is a parent night to discuss the PSP's and requirements and some suggestions of what they can be doing at home with the students.
