Our class is studying the Revolutionary War in Social Studies, and I would like to pair this with a literature unit on the book, My Brother Sam is Dead. Does anyone have any units already written for this book? This is my first year teaching fifth grade and this book. Any ideas or resources would be helpful. Thanks!

My students read this book as one of our Revolutionary War books in a literature circle. They really enjoyed it but fair warning it has a grusome ending and a few curse words sprinkled in here and there. Other than that a very good book! I don't have a literature unit but bookrags.com has a REALLY in depeth guide: chapter summaries, discussion topics, quizzes, essay questions, etc. And if i'm not mistaken it's about $9. Another good website for extra resources is http://mybrothersamisdead.historyofredding.com/ Good luck and enjoy the book!
