Clip to ScrapBook #1

I am doing a unit on Single Celled Organisms. I am a student teacher so all advice is welcome and appreciated. I need to teach the fact that some single-celled organisms like bacteria are bad while others are beneficial. Does anyone have any ideas, particularly for the beneficial part? Right now I have an experiment but I fear it is messy and will be over the heads of my students, thank you in advance!

Yeast is beneficial in many respects and kids know how good pasteries taste. Maybe something along these lines?
