Clip to ScrapBook #1

I'm considering doing some themes with my students this year to make each class a little more cohesive. For 3rd grade, I'm planning to do fairy tales-comparing ones from different countries (and studying those cultures), looking at the Grimm Borothers and where so many stories originated, and reading classics like Alice in Wonderland and Beauty and the Beast. I even found fairy tale math. For 5th grade we are going to study the greek gods and read the Percy Jackson series. So, my question is...any ideas for 4th and 6th grade themes? I've considered American history, classics, and biographies, but just can't come up with a real plan. I don't plan on doing the themes all year, but for a few months because I only see them twice a week. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

With 6th grade, I've done Egypt, Mexico, and The Renaissance. I may be teaching 4th grade this year, and if so, I'm thinking of doing a unit on oceans/sea life.
