Not really, but today was challenging. These 7th graders have not matured ONE bit this year. In fact, they have morphed from sweet 6th graders into loud, loud, loud disrespectful monsters. I've taught 7th grade full time. They can be rough, but by the end of 7th grade, they are generally more mature and fun to be around. And I know the end of the year is rough. But there are THREE weeks left. I'm booked for all but two days for the next two weeks. One of those days off is babysitting my 5 and 2 year old grandkids. They are more mature than the 7th graders. Can you tell this was a two wine afternoon when I got home? And that is why I have chosen to not sub for the final week of school!

My first two years of teaching were at the middle school level. I completely understand a 🍷 🍷 afternoon.

I've been back several times. It hasn't been bad at all. I talked to the teacher. This has been her worst year teaching. I loved these kids when they were 6th graders. They've always been loud, but they just refuse to settle down when class starts or during class or when they are supposed to be working. I can deal with that. But the rudeness is another thing, especially from the usually "good" students. I'm only working through next week. I won't sub the final week, as I am out of days/hours I can work as a retired teacher.

Subbing does get tough this time of year. I'm choosing jobs carefully at this point too. We still have about a month of school left though. No plans to take fourth grade jobs for the remainder of the school year.

Middle and high school only. Tomorrow is 6th grade. They are still sweet. Next week is 8th grade for their locker clean out and field trip. Fun day if it doesn't rain! I think I have a high school half day too. They are great, because they have finals the next week, so are studying like crazy.
