Half day pay for 1 1/4 hours work

Clip to ScrapBook #1

Yesterday I had a half day afternoon assignment. I went to the classroom at 11:30 and the teacher told me her meeting wasn't until 1:00. I told the secretary I'd be in the lounge. I ate lunch, picked up the kids at 12:45 and school was out at 2:00. Then I had to sit around until 3:00 before I could leave. So glad I brought a good book to read.

Actually, last week I also had a half day in RSP. I had my lunch, the teacher stayed until her MD appointment, no students came in, and I waited it out until 3:00. So, I was really paid for doing nothing. But there was a nice buffet in the teachers' lounge.

I really don't like to sit around not working but it happens once in a while. Anyone else have a similar story?

My favorite kind of half day. I figure those days make up for the pitiful pay we get, especially if we have to cover during plan periods!

Like mrsd, those days are few and far between but very much appreciated when they come along.

Agreed, those kind of days come along once in a blue moon, and itís a gift for all the days we pay for with our blood, sweat, and tears. You might want to buy a lottery ticket before your lucky streak expires.
